I love to see bright orange pumpkins decorating the front porch in the fall! My kids anticipate carving jack-o-lanterns all October as pumpkins start appearing in the stores and produce stands. We make a family outing of visiting a local produce stand or pumpkin farm and carefully selecting pumpkins. Each pumpkin has its own personality, so in order to carve the perfect jack-o-lantern, you’ve got to start with the right pumpkin! Then the pumpkins are lined up on our front porch to await carving day. Our family usually doesn’t carve them until a day or two before Halloween.
Last fall my husband and I spent so much time helping out our four kids with their jack-o-lanterns that we never got around to carving our own! A few days after Halloween, I started to wonder what I could do with those two uncarved pumpkins to make the porch a bit more festive for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday. It also had to be quick and CHEAP! So after a trip to the dollar store and a few minutes with my vinyl sticker cutter, I came up with these:
I loved the way they looked on the porch! I kept the ribbon from last year too, so it will be easy to cut new vinyl and put it all on new pumpkins for this fall too.
I know you’d love to have such cute, easy fall decor on your porch too, so I wanted to share my “Happy Fall” and “Give Thanks” word art with you!

Don’t have a vinyl cutter? My mom has a vinyl cutting business called CARisma Vinyl! Her prices are very affordable, and she can cut almost anything you can imagine. She started out just making car decals, (CARisma Vinyl, get it?) but now she does all kinds of décor, advertising, and stickers. Stop by her website at www.carismavinyl.com and order your very own fall word art stickers for your pumpkins!
Have fun decorating for fall!
